What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your nail tech will shape your natural nails, gently push back cuticles, and size each Gel X tip to fit perfectly. The tips are applied with gel adhesive and cured under an LED lamp — the whole process takes about 45-60 minutes for a full set. You'll walk out with strong, beautiful nails that last 3 to 4 weeks. Fill-ins are quicker and keep everything looking fresh between full sets.

The biggest difference is how they feel. Gel X uses soft, pre-made tips bonded with gel — so there's no powder, no liquid monomer, and no strong smell. They're lighter and more flexible than acrylics, which makes them gentler on your natural nails. Acrylic full sets at our salon start at $47, while Gel X starts at $65. Both are great options — it just depends on what you're looking for.
With normal wear, a Gel X set lasts about 3 to 4 weeks. We recommend coming in for a fill every 2 to 3 weeks to keep them looking their best. If you're tough on your hands (we get it), just let your tech know and they can reinforce the tips for extra durability.
Absolutely — Gel X tips are actually one of the best surfaces for nail art. You can add ombre ($15), chrome or cat eye finishes ($15), French tips ($10), or go all out with our signature 3D nail art. A lot of our clients in Gaithersburg come specifically for Gel X with custom designs.
When applied and removed properly, Gel X is one of the least damaging extension systems out there. We never over-file your natural nail, and removal is done by soaking — not ripping or prying. Your natural nails stay healthy underneath.
